Our People

The café-bar is the brain child of Vanessa. She wanted to create a place in London that had a vibrant bar and memorable food, atmosphere and music that was inspired by the spirit, spices and significance of Caribbean food, drink and lifestyle. It’s her first venture into entrepreneurship- she used to be a lawyer in the City. Vanessa proves that there’s nothing as compelling as the passion for something new and different that you believe in. 

Our Head Chef Aimé Lombaya, supported by his fine kitchen brigade, delivers dishes that are true to our Caribbean Creole inspiration and absolutely beautifully presented to boot – you should see his Swordfish Supreme and his exotic pineapple dessert! To die for.  See more about Chef Aimé here.

Brandon is our Manager and man in charge – a man of 6 senses, he’s the one sometimes seen on the ladder outside changing the light-bulb no-one else had noticed had blown… he leads the team and keeps everything in line ably supported by Fabio, the star, and the front of house team James, Alice, Angela, Michael and Valentina.

There's also Orantes. From his vantage position in the office he keeps tabs on everything that's happening and can take care of it, nothing too big or small- no document to draft, booking, telephone crisis, restaurant review or even personal crisis of staff member.

There are loads of other people (like Andrea!) who support and assist but they are too many to name here- they know who they are, and we hope we say “thank you” even half as much as we should.
